ABOUT THE BRIDGE PODIATRY CLINIC

The Bridge Podiatry Clinic was established by Fenella Lipkin in 2002 in response to a need for the provision of quality private chiropody and podiatry services in South Warrington and Cheshire. The philosophy of the clinic is to achieve the highest standards of foot health for all the family. We provide safe and clinically effective treatment in a friendly, professional and caring way. We are a forward thinking practice and use up to date effective technology to ensure our patients receive the best possible care. We have close working relationships with health professionals across Warrington and operate a referral system amongst colleagues within the medical team.

Fenella, together with her associates, are all members of the HCPC and Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists which is a recognition of the Degree standard level in Podiatry to which they have been educated.

All Podiatrists have extensive experience of working within the NHS as well as working in private practice in the UK and abroad which allows them to adopt the best working practices.

Our podiatrists keep up to date on the latest footcare developments and can advise on current thinking in the podiatry world. Our practice believes in continual learning and development and provides mentorship for undergraduate podiatry students.

Our Services

Podiatry / Chiropody

At present the terms Chiropodist and Podiatrist are interchangeable. The term podiatry is now more widely used. Podiatrists are trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate problems of the lower limb to include general maintenance and wellbeing of the feet.

Modern podiatry developments recognise that footcare is not just about treating a specific injury or problem. Your feet can tell much about your general wellbeing and a regular check up is an essential part of looking after your health. So whether you are keen at sports, want to keep fit and active or are concerned about your foot health we can help you with regular foot health checks as well as recommending specific products that will help you maintain good foot health.

We love to meet new feet and to decide a treatment programme together. Your feet are so important- let us help you to look after them!

Physiotherapy

We have a physiotherapist at the clinic, Gareth Timmins who has many years experience and has now worked with us for over 14 years. Appointments can be made with him directly, information and contact details can be found on his website.

Available Treatments

We aim to make YOUR feet your best asset as we think that they are the most important of the body. We believe that foot health education is an integral element in the effective treatment of your feet. We always combine your treatment with practical information on how to maintain your feet in great condition. We have a specific nail clinic for our patients who may require a “nails only treatment” once they have had an initial assessment treatment.

This will depend upon medical history and an annual assessment treatment will be required each year. We offer regular general check ups for all our patients where we give you the time to discuss any concerns that you may have, for us to offer helpful advice about any concerns you may have and potentially spot an issue before it becomes a problem.

  • General maintenance and advice on the best way to care for your feet
  • Corns and Callus
  • Nail conditions
  • Thickened nails
  • Fungal Nails
  • Ingrowing or infected nails
  • Verrucae
  • Biomechanical or gait problems and possible provision of orthotics
  • Diabetic footcare, advice and screening
  • Foot injuries
  • Bunions (hallux valgus)

Advanced treatments offered for the above are:

  • Nail Surgery
  • Wilde Pedique : A medical reconstruction technique for a damaged nail.
  • Clearanail fungal nail treatment : Controlled micropenetration technology
to allow access for an anti-fungal agent.
  • Prende paraffin warm wax therapy treatment : A luxurious stand alone treatment or an addition to a general podiatry treatment.
